Learn To Eat Well And Live Better

If one were to pick one way of life it just may explain your whole way of eating.
Eating to live, in my opinion, simply means one just grabs what they can just fuel the growl of hunger. Not paying to much attention to nutrients, fat or calorie content, nor flavor. Just getting by on what is conveniently at hand to hold them over until the next feed.

Certain health risks may progress with this thought process, with overeating being the most common factor. Foods that offer quick convenience may also contain high caloric content, saturated fat, and cause havoc on the digestive system. The ever popular term "gut bomb" holds true to the sense that after consuming a large amount of excess fat and calories, one throws their body into over drive trying to digest foreign additives not intended for a healthy lifestyle.

How To Eat Better By Learning How To Cook The Basics

By learning to cook the basics of food preparation, then the whole process of eating better will be more accessible on a daily basis. For example, a burger and fries are not necessarily unhealthy when prepared from scratch and that are made with all natural ingredients. While you make think you are buying whole wheat or whole grain bread, it is the additives added to the product that prolong the shelf life and enhance the appearance that can cause digestive harm. Some ingredients known to be added are often chemicals that are not intended for food consumption, but quite ideal for anti-caking purposes as well as bleaching the product. The FDA does allow these types of preservatives and additives in small amounts, however during the long haul these kinds of ingredients will begin to take toll on the body.

Making foods from scratch will save money in the larger scheme of everyday healthy eating. Let's say you are feeding a family of four and you are really wanting that burger. There some great protein options besides "McDonald Pink Slime Meat Patty" that will promote a healthy digestive system, even choosing ground beef that is at least 15% fat is a better option. There really is no hidden secret or special ingredient to creating the perfect tasting burger. Simple seasonings like salt and pepper along with a non stick skillet is the basics for cooking a home made burger.

More Basic Cooking And How It Saves Money

The transition is quite a process if you have been stuck in the drive thru's and frozen section aisle. I am not suggesting to wake up tomorrow and become the next master chef. Start small and slowly begin to build your pantry with healthier food options.

Basic Cooking Skills | Burgers And Fries

Basic cooking skills are essential to creating meals that encourage eating healthier as well as saving money. If your pantry is scarce for cooking ingredients, then start slow and buy healthier options such as extra virgin olive oil and whole grain pasta. Eating better doesn't mean one has to break the bank, although understanding how to cook simple meals will require some effort and desire to learn how to use basic skills in the kitchen.

Compare the cost of purchasing burgers and fries at a drive thru restaurant, the average cost of a meal is around 8 dollars and feeding a family of four this can set your food budget back 32 bucks. Now if you utilized your basic cooking instincts and bought the ingredients from the supermarket, the cost would be cut in half. Now take in consideration that you may already have the majority of ingredients on hand like the usual condiments, ketchup, mayo, pickles, etc. This could cut down the costs to a fourth of what you would pay at a drive through.

Even purchasing a whole chicken and preparing oven roasted potatoes will not only cut costs, but this type of meal will illuminate the desire to want to learn to cook better. Don't be alarmed if you begin to acquire new kitchens gadgets or innovative recipes swarming among your thoughts, and instead of leftover take out boxes in your refrigerator there will be fresh ingredients waiting in line for the next culinary adventure. As they say one good thing leads to another. A couple weeks into this transition, you might even find everything is fitting a little looser than before.

So I challenge the eat to live's to give it a try, drive past the number one convenience to your local grocery store with a list of change in your hand and watch yourself transition into us, the live to eat's

Happy Cooking

According to Australian researchers, men have placed eating as number one trigger and sex on number two. (They did not tell about women)

However, it is also true that most of our diseases are caused by unhealthy eating.

Jenobouka I can tell by reading this hub of yours, that your very health conscious and that's what people actually need to be like today. Thanks to my wife I am also health conscious today, and only eat primarily organic foods from approved organic food stores.

With that stated I have no longer returned to them fast food stores like the drive through you've stated above, Macdonalds, Burger king or the likes. I'm glad that your spreading this conscious message out to others worldwide, because more people need to begin waking up out of their deep sleep and poor health, and also bad eating habits, for a better future for us all.

Voted up and getting shared up above the digital Clouds.
