Long Term Weight Loss Succes Tips
To achieve long term weight loss success begins with the motivation or desire to live a healthier lifestyle. This usually means that you need to start exercising, choose a healthier diet plan, and be able to have self discipline.
While some dieters are forced to lose weight by a health professional, others desire the look of thin and will do anything to achieve this no matter the cost. They will take risky diet pills, go on a crash diet to lose 10 to 20 pounds, or fast for a period of time to try to detox their bodies from all the toxins in hopes to shed the unwanted weight. There are some serious health risks for crash diets and diet pills and the results, if any, are short term and reek havoc on your bodies natural ability to maintain a healthy weight.
There are many tips to lose weight but very few of these ways will actually enhance your body's natural ability to keep the weight off. So before you rush your shipment of the "Hollywood diet" miracle liquid diet detox juice, please consider changing the way you look at the word diet and think about what "healthy" means to you.
How To Start Weight Loss
Achieving any goal in life it is good to write down a plan and make mini goals to your main goal along with a time line, this helps motivate your weight loss plan and your success. First, be kind to yourself, turn away from society's idea of what beautiful is and look inside yourself and realize you are a unique beautiful human being who deserves to be healthy. Second, it is highly recommended to visit your general physician and talk to them about your weight loss plan and goals, it is a good idea to do some general blood work done to make sure you do not have any health risks or exercise limitations. You may also discover why you are not able to keep the weight off, or lack motivation to exercise due to a health condition like abnormal thyroid levels or suffer from anemia. Unknown conditions like these can limit your ultimate weight loss goal and result in you feeling like you failed once again, yet with the underlying conditions at play it was not your lack of trying.
Do some research on diet food plans, such as the eat to live diet, Atkins diet, South Beach diet, or my personal favorite the omega diet. While these diet plans can be manipulated into fast fad weight loss schemes they do hold the core idea of what foods fuel your body and help speed up metabolism and thus turning your body into a fat burning machine, along with exercise.
When you research the many food diet plans make sure to write down a pro and con list of each plan, for instance if you are looking into the omega diet plan and you begin to see that the types of foods suggested to eat do not seem appetizing, research another food diet plan, like the live to eat. Again I can not stress enough how important it is to choose this as a lifestyle change in your eating habits versus clearing out your kitchen and breaking the bank just to achieve your weight loss goal then resume your old eating habits.

Zumba: Best Exercise To Lose Weight
If you are like me and tear up as you head to the gym for the fear of sweating like a pig in front of the "beach bodies" or have the sixth sense to be able to find other things that demand your immediate attention before you even think you have the time to go to the gym to run on a treadmill like a caged hamster, then Zumba may be the answer.
Zumba is a dance based aerobic exercise program that boosts your heart rate, tones your body's core, and brings out your inner dance party. I prefer to move and shake to upbeat tunes with a group of people who are as uncoordinated as myself while burning mass amounts of unwanted calories. With this booming exercise trend you can either find a Zumba class near you or if you prefer to shake your bom bom at home they sell various videos for your home.

OOooh, I have wanted to try zumba for a while now. It looks like so much fun and a great workout.

Of course living a frugal lifestyle can help . . . having no money really cuts down on the amount of food one eats.
I have found that a diet of insects helps too as they taste terrible and are much harder to swallow than one would imagine, not too mention catch!
And because they are tough to catch it helps with exercise, after the coming Polar Shift they will be the meal of choice so if you get used to them now you'll be one step ahead of the game, assuming you survive the coming Apocalypse!
I would love to stalk you as long as I don't have to get off the couch, come to think of it I sold my couch . . . computer chair doesn't have the same ring does it?
I was glad to see your mention of Dr. Fuhrman's Eat To Live book. I've been on his plan (strict to modified) for the last seven months or so, with excellent results. Rather than focusing on weight loss, I focused on getting rid of things I already knew were not doing me any good, like dairy and gluten and prepared foods full of who-knows-what. The important thing for me is that following his plan changed the way I eat forever, and I'm confident the long-term effects (weight loss, detoxification, absence of food cravings) will continue. I'd say that long-term weight loss is a matter of completely changing the way you eat, and never going back to the old ways.
Up and useful!
This was really helpful. I've been at a plateau lately and am struggling against all my instincts to go back to my bad behaviors. It takes a lot of dedication and motivation to lose weight healthily. Your insights have given me a lot to think about.

I couldn't agree more. The old adage 'clothes don't make the man' is so true.
No amount of tweaks will change anything until we start to accept ourselves first.
Excellent and useful hub Jen.
Voted up useful and interesting.
